Not much here on the VanWilligen Genealogy Page. I'm still thinking about what to include.

For now - here are some pictures of my son, Brian Murphy VanWilligen, paying his respects to the VanWilligen relatives this past Memorial Day (May 2004).

Clicking each picture will load a much larger version!

Some other interesting VanWilligen genealogy things:

The first page of the ship manifest from when my great grandfather first arrived in America. The second page of the ship manifest from when my great grandfather first arrived in America.
A picture of the ship carrying my great grandfather and family from Amsterdam to Ellis Island, New York, United States.

More VanWilligen pictures:

Here is the VanWilligen clan, circa 1912, soon after arriving in Iowa. From left - Albert, Sander, Maurice, Gertrude, Areke, Margaret, Minnie, Sander. Missing is Gerrit - who was older and came to the United States much earlier. This photo has "maanen" or maybe "vanmaanen" written on the back. I can't find any information on him, but maybe he is related to my great-grandmother, Areke (Muilenburg) VanWilligen.

Finally, if you would like a copy of my current gedcom file - last updated 5/2004 - click here (it is a gedcom file, zipped up).
